Are your students stuck with theory concepts that stay on the written page and never make it to the real world of music literature? If you’re nodding your head, this workshop is for you. Teaching music theory is a fact of life, as is our students’ arsenal of ways to avoid their theory work. In this workshop we will discuss strategies to infuse theory into your everyday teaching. We will tackle specific concepts and give concrete examples of how to approach those concepts. We will discuss where students typically struggle at our various theory levels and ways to introduce these theory concepts for different learning styles.
